Quality Assurance Manager
Alstom Transportation is hiring a Quality Assurance Manager for their Newark, NJ site. This is a full time, on-site position that will be responsible for creating and implementing the quality processes and procedures for the site, handling all internal / external audits and participating in all safety investigations.
Responsibilities
Identify non-routine work processes and ensure accurate Hazard Identification / Risk Assessments and Method Statements are performed.
Attend Daily AES / MOR meetings and support team.
Conduct and review Risk Assessments supporting site operations and develop and recommend appropriate risk management strategies including proper measures to mitigate risks (eliminate or render acceptable).
Conduct Conversation Based Safety Tours and Zone Inspections, engaging all levels of staff. Review all Efficiency Test submittals and provide trend analysis to Site Director.
Confirm proper documentation of compliance activities for reference purposes, ensure that Alstom EHS standards and tools (AZDP, TOP E, Transport Key processes) are deployed at the site level.
Support all internal (Alstom O&M) and external (vendor) audits to ensure compliance with expectations, contracts and safety.
Prepare and present Alstom management with compliance reports. Identify trends and present performance improvement data to make informed business decisions.
8. Attend and contribute to Site Joint Safety Committee Meetings.
Perform safety and procedural compliance audits for Maintenance and Operations.
Participate in Safety Investigations, including compliance with all procedures.
Recommend procedural improvements based on APM best business practices.
Contribute to annual Rule Book review, Operations Center Manual revisions.
Has full authority to stop work at any time (Site Director authority).
Chair all Configuration Management meetings.
Requirements :
Bachelors degree in Quality Engineering or other engineering discipline.
5+ years of practical quality experience.
Rail or light rail industry experience is highly desirable. Transportation, aerospace or large industrial industry experience would be relevant.
Lean / Six Sigma experience.
Proven experience creating and implementing processes and procedures from scratch.
Root cause analysis and KPI experience.
Background leading internal / external audits.
Strong computer skills.
Strong communication skills (written / verbal).
Hands-on quality professional, with practical knowledge, able to influence those around them.
