Human Resources is looking for a dynamic Employee Relations Investigator to join the team.
This individual will conduct investigations into workplace concerns and support positive employee engagement by providing guidance and recommendations to resolve employee complaints.
This role will work closely with HR Business Partners and the Director of Employee Relations to promote equity, company values, and accountability in the workplace, and to respond appropriately, thoroughly, and fairly to reports of employee complaints and allegations of misconduct.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts prompt and thorough investigations into sensitive employee relations issues, and makes objective recommendations based on findings.
This includes : intake of employee concerns and complaints, conducting investigatory interviews, collecting / reviewing relevant evidence, writing investigation reports, recommending appropriate action, and delivering debriefs with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensures consistent interpretation of Morehouse School of Medicine policies and procedures and application of discipline.
- Communicates with employees regarding their concerns and complaints; provides guidance and recommendations for resolution of issues to the Director of Employee Relations and / or Chief People Officer.
- Develop a rapport with a variety of personalities, maintain a calm and professional demeanor during stressful situations, and effectively defuse escalated personnel situations.
- Analyze complex factual scenarios, identify and apply relevant policies and procedures, and translate findings in clear, written form.
- Collaborate with the HR team to refine its investigation model, from reporting to post-action, ensuring an equitable and transparent employee experience and quantifiable data.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of information.

- 3-5 years of relevant employee relations experience, focused on workplace investigations
- Comfortable working with any level of employee
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including with note taking and recordkeeping
- Detail-oriented and able to complete tasks timely and accurately
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a higher education setting or lawfirm / legal environment
- Human Resources Professional Certification or other Employee Relations Certification
