Position Purpose The Bell Person / Attendant is responsible for providing a memorable first and last impression to guests as they arrive and leave the hotel in the continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following represents a list of essential duties and responsibilities; other duties may be assigned as required. Assist guests with taking their luggage and packages to their rooms after checking in. Provide information to the guests regarding storage areas, restaurant hours of operation, vending machines, hotel events, directions etc. Organize and store luggage, according to guidelines. Answer guest questions regarding their hotel rooms i.e. telephone instructions, TV channels, heating and air conditioning etc. Assist guests in arranging transportation including hailing taxicabs when necessary. At departure, assist guest with taking luggage to the curb. Maintain the cleanliness of the lobby and welcome area between housekeeping runs. Report lost and found items per hotel policies Report all suspicious persons or activities, hazardous conditions, etc. to the Safety / Security department. Provide guests with exceptional customer service. Provide instruction / guidance for guest and employee safety in fire or other emergency situations. Support the department in any area that will improve guest service. Must be ready to step in and support coworkers and team as needed to ensure efficient operation. (Must have valid qualifications to assist valet). Attend meetings / training as required by management. Ensure that management / leadership team is kept fully aware of any relevant feedback from guests and / or other departments. Perform duties, special assignments and projects as requested by management. General Requirements Ability to attend to guests, associates and management in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner which requires strong customer service and communication skills. Must be able to speak, read, write and communicate in English to adequately perform the duties of the job.
