Data Governance Analyst
Job Description
The purpose of the Data Governance Analyst role is to ensure the quality and accuracy of data within the organization by implementing and maintaining data governance processes, policies, and procedures.
The Data Governance Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting Master Data Management (MDM) efforts by reviewing match results, providing support to the data steward team, and monitoring data quality.
The ideal candidate will help establish a strong data governance framework and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data quality issues, ensuring the organization's data meets the highest standards of quality and consistency.
The Data Steward will work closely with the Data Governance Analyst to ensure the quality and integrity of data, support MDM efforts, and contribute to the organization's data governance objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain data governance processes, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve data quality issues, ensuring adherence to data standards and guidelines.
- Oversee data quality monitoring activities, including the design and implementation of data quality metrics, data profiling, and data cleansing efforts.
- Review match results generated by MDM systems, analyze potential data matches, and provide recommendations for data consolidation and resolution.
- Collaborate with the data steward team to provide guidance and support on data governance and data quality initiatives.
- Conduct regular audits to identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and redundancies, and develop strategies to address them.
- Develop and maintain data quality reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators and provide insights to stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements in data governance practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve data quality processes and tools.
- Participate in data governance meetings, present findings, and provide recommendations for improvement.

- Possess a strong understanding of data governance principles, industry standards, and best practices. Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and advancements in data governance.
- Familiarity with data management concepts and techniques, including data quality assessment, data profiling, data cleansing, and data integration.
Proficiency in SQL and data querying languages.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve data quality issues. Able to conduct data audits, analyze match results, and provide recommendations for data consolidation and resolution.
- Experience in designing and implementing data quality metrics, monitoring data quality, and generating reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators.
Ability to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Must present well-groomed professional appearance at all times.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in both an office and casino environment.
Position Type / Expected Work Hours
This is a full-time position. Must be flexible regarding schedule with the ability to work varied days and times.
Education and / or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field preferred
- Proven experience in data governance, data management, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, best practices, and industry standards.
- Proficient in data quality assessment, data profiling, and data cleansing techniques.
- Familiarity with Master Data Management (MDM) concepts and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve data quality issues.
- Proficient in SQL and data querying languages.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, instructions, emails and other related documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests. Fluency in English required, second language a plus.
Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
Age, Certifications and Work Cards
21 years of age or above.
A valid Nevada Gaming License is required and must be obtained before entering this position.
