The role you’ll contribute :
The Writing Center Assistant Program Coordinator supervises and coordinates dedicated programs that are developed, as needed, in supporting the academic success of students at AdventHealth University (AHU).
Examples of such programs might include anything from developing a lab for students who are accepted on probationary status to targeted support for writing intensive graduate courses.
Specific programs will change based on need. The Writing Center Assistant Program Coordinator develops and manages these programs, as identified in consultation with the Writing Center Coordinator.
The value you’ll bring to the team :
- Participates in the research, strategic planning, implementation, and assessment of the Writing Center programs designated by the Writing Center Coordinator for dedicated oversight and development
- Provides writing consulting to University students
- Works collaboratively with University programs and departments to meet the needs of targeted service populations
- Collaborates with Student Academic Support and Student Experience personnel in developing activities and programming that support student academic success
- Works with faculty in developing content relevant to designated programs
- Provides specialized writing support for at-risk students in coordination with Student Affairs and Student Experience personnel
- Participates in Writing Across the Curriculum initiatives with University faculty, including attendance at Writing Across the Curriculum meetings and the establishment of relationships with participating faculty to build bridges between University curricula and Writing Center support
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
Bachelor’s degree in English, Writing and Rhetoric, Communication, Journalism, or other related field and three (3) years tutoring experience in English, Writing and Rhetoric, or related field at an institution of higher learning
