Overview Cummings Electrical's manufacturing facility located in Hurst, Texas is looking for a Lead Welder. The Lead Welder must be familiar with and capable of using various types of welding and fabrication equipment. This includes operation of manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, cutting / drilling equipment, iron workers, and brakes to build assemblies. This is a working lead role, and the position will include daily weld / fab work along with department-level leadership tasks such as assigning work based on the production schedule, meeting deadlines, and ensuring department materials are accounted for. Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years of welding experience 2+ of leadership responsibilities Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals. Understanding of how / when different types of welds are used based on material type, structural criteria, and assembly end-use. Understand priorities communicated by supervisor and run department schedule based on manpower and assembly build times. Ability to perform simple shop math, convert decimals to fractional equivalents. Basic computer skills : Capable of running updated scheduling reports, ensuring department work transactions are completed correctly, and basic use of Microsoft Office suite.
