The Team : The Part-Time Visual Merchandiser position is part of the American Girl New York City retail store team. The Opportunity : The American Girl New York City retail store is seeking a dynamic individual for the Part-Time Visual Merchandiser position. This position will be responsible for new product launches and initiatives, seasonal floor sets, changes to floor due to product availability, daily maintenance of product displays, and adherence to the organization's visual high standards. What Your Impact Will Be : Assist visual merchandising manager in the execution of display window changes, merchandise changes and planogram layouts, and graphic changes. Create dynamic displays using dolls and complementary product. Keep current on product knowledge. Demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing tasks based on business need and to troubleshoot when product availability becomes an issue. Maintain the overall visual and merchandising standards of the store consistent with the organization's vision of the brand. Develop and maintain positive, cooperative relationships with staff, management, and corporate partners. Provide assistance to customers as needed. Stock merchandise when needed. What We’re Looking For : 1 - 2 years of successful work experience in retail merchandising, retail, or related field which includes expertise in customer service, preferred. Knowledge of general visual principles required with a strong emphasis on construction and detail. Manual skills in doll styling, straight blade cutting, and minor assembly, preferred. Ability to work independently and quickly within a team setting Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays. POSITION SUMMARY : Responsible for assisting with the visual merchandising and presentation of the retail locations in NYC. This role is primarily based in the field. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Assist the Director of VM with weekly directive execution. Build and maintain strong relationships with store management and teams. Facilitates and maximizes profitability of NYC floor sets by assisting store teams in adapting the Global VM Directive to the specific store layout, product assortment, inventory levels, and customer demographic. Train, develop, and inspire store teams to maintain visual excellence in between store visits. Manages a flexible, revolving schedule of store visits by shifting priorities based on the needs of the business, monthly window installations, retail events, and the promotional calendar. Identifies any VM areas of opportunity within the business and is proactive in finding solutions. Support special brand events including NYFW presentations.
