Job Description
Drives trucks, semi-tractors and semi-trailers of any capacity for intra-plant and off-Company hauling. Makes pickups at and deliveries to depots, freight terminals, stores, warehouses and other designated locations as dispatched.
Makes pickups at and deliveries to vendors and subcontractors as dispatched. Operates gasoline and oil trucks off or on Company property.
Loads or cooperates with others in loading material, salvage, parts, assemblies, tooling and equipment. Checks against written instructions or follows verbal orders, responsible for the checking of load for safety and correctness of loading procedures prior to movement, delivers to proper destination and unloads or cooperates with others when handling.
Checks pickups and deliveries against shipping documents and papers and handles all necessary paperwork.
Performs emergency roadside maintenance work such as repairing tubes and changing tires, light bulbs, fuses and plugs when necessary.
Requires the use of tugs and or tractors for the delivery, positioning and retrieving of ground support equipment.
Tows and moves aircraft including fueling and defueling.
May be required to operate electronic data entry, storage, and processing and / or retrieval equipment as a routine part of accomplishing their normal job assignments.
Some weekends and overtime may be requested in this position.
Desired skills
Experience with Flight Line procedures including
the impact of FOD on aircraft operations
- Experience towing and fueling aircraft
- Experience working with high value cargo.
- Experience performing roadside maintenance.
- Experience using hand tools performing roadside maintenance work.
