Cyber Security Analyst
Amentum is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join our team in West Palm Beach, FL to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) mission.
The Cyber Security Analyst will be working closely with team members in various locations in Florida and in Andros Island, Bahamas.
As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will be responsible for maintaining Assessment and Accreditation documentation utilizing RMF processes and procedures, security auditing, compliance auditing and implementation, among other duties, under the guidance of the Information System Security Manager.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret US Government Clearance. Note : US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
Essential Responsibilities :
The Cyber Security Analyst will help support the implementation and administration of information security policies, practices, procedures, and technologies
Must complete projects on time and work within deadlines and have the ability to adjust to ever-changing cyber security needs and scenarios.
Expertise will be an integral part of our all-encompassing Cybersecurity Management deliverable.
Promotes a culture of security awareness and seize opportunities to educate staff at all levels about security awareness concepts
Embraces collaboration, have strong communication skills and be able to translate to non-technical users
Performs security assessments on systems using various tools, including, but not limited to, NESSUS vulnerability scanners, ACAS security tools and eMass.
Creates, reviews and analyzes various types of security reports, including, but not limited to, risk assessments, compliance reports, audit logs, access logs and system logs.
Monitors and reports on any misuse of accounts and security policy violations.
Assists in the development and maintenance of IT security guidelines and procedures.
Documents best practices with the Cybersecurity department and Operations department staff using available collaboration tools and workspaces.
Performs and initiates special assignments as necessary.
Ability to understand vulnerabilities at a technical level and capable of recommending and effectively communicating mitigation strategy.
Ability to communicate professionally.
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements :
2-4 years of experience working in an Information Security capacity with demonstrated working knowledge of Information Security standards as applicable to the Risk Management Framework (RMF), cyber security requirements and best practices.
Associate’s degree in Cyber Security, IT or related field; relevant experience in lieu of degree.
CompTIA Security+ is required.
Well versed in Microsoft office suite to include Word, Excel and Visio.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members and work efficiently to resolve time sensitive issues is a must.
May be exposed to moderate noise levels from machinery.
Work is primarily performed in standard office environments and is primarily sedentary, although there may be some carrying of laptops, books, printouts, manuals, files and equipment.
Duties may also involve stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching and moving of equipment in order to install or check the installations of network devices and cabling.
Work involves operation of personal computer equipment daily.
Ability to travel to remote work location on Andros Island, Bahamas for up to 10 days at a time.
Must be able to reside in remote work location with limited medical facilities.
Valid driver’s license and passport will be required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret US Government Clearance. Note : US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications :
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong familiarity with Windows desktop and server operating systems.
Strong familiarity with database mining.
Strong understanding of networking concepts, familiarity with routers, firewalls, access points, IDS / IPS and VPN.
Strong organizational, operational and inter-personal skills.
