Assists with inquires made by patients, visitors, or employees. Responds quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations. Ensures only authorized persons are admitted onto Hospital property. Assists with inquires made by patients, visitors, or other employees. Maintains current information in daily activity reports / logs, indecent reports, lost and found logs, etc. Serves as a member of the emergency response team and responds to codes appropriately. Reports all safety and fire hazards, investigates incidents of unusual circumstances, and reports all incidents to supervisor. Supports all fire / life safety / emergency management drills and education initiatives. Documents incident reports in an accurate and timely manner. Follows appropriate investigative procedure. Must be able to respond quickly to all areas of the hospital. Successfully completes hospital and department specific orientation and ongoing mandatory education requirements timely. Manage access control at various entrances by ensuring all staff, patients, visitors and vendors are authorized to gain entry for business / service purposes. Assists in maintaining regulatory requirements, including state and federal regulations. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Maintains a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, staff, and vendors. Should an emergency situation arise (weather related or other emergency related events), senior management may require a need to have security staff remain at the Hospital in order to assure that the well-being of our patients is uncompromised and Hospital operations are interrupted. While these situations are unusual and at times predictable, our security staff should be prepared to remain on site. Other duties as assigned. Certification / Licensure : A current Basic Life Support (BLS) American Red Cross or American Heart Association Provider certification or a CPI certification is preferred.
