Desktop Security Engineer
IntroductionVisium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for a Desktop Security Engineer. This position is a long term contract opportunity which is expected to be a hybrid position in Sacramento, CA for a large State agency.
SummaryWe are looking for a Desktop Security Engineer to join our Helpdesk Team! The ideal candidate will have expertise working with end users to assess and remediate desktop vulnerability with Nessus assessment tools and Crowdstrike.
Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) is a must for the management, deployment and security of devices and application across the environment.
This person will also have strong communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with multiple teams. Primary Responsibilities :
- Conduct security vulnerability scans to identify, analyze, and report on security risks and exposures.
- Insure security policies and procedures are up to date on end user devices to protect the organization's data and systems.
- Work closely with other teams to ensure security protocols are properly implemented and followed.
- Investigate and analyze security events to identify root cause and recommend corrective actions.
- Stay up to date on the latest security best practices and technologies.Rate & Benefits* This position is paid on a hourly basis and will be 40 hours per week.
The rate expectation is $32 to $37 per hour.* Candidate will be offered benefits per our standard benefit package. We believe Visium Resources is a leader in contract employee benefits.

Qualified candidates would have the following : * Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience on Help Desk with desktop security experience.
- Comfortable working on a high volume help desk.* Experience with Nessus, CrowdStrike, Microsoft SCCM or similar products is a must.
- Expertise with vulnerability assessment, security testing, and security tools.
- Knowledge of security protocols, standards, and best practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
