About the State Fair of Texas Since its inception in 1886, the State Fair of Texas has celebrated all things Texan by promoting agriculture, education, and community involvement through quality entertainment in a family-friendly environment. SUMMARY Ensure all Paint Shop operations are completed in compliance with all applicable safety codes and SFT standards and regulations; maintain and repair all Painting Jobs and equipment including SFT buildings and grounds. Assist Paint Shop with routine to moderately complex surface preparation, painting, and finishing tasks, applying a variety of methods, media, and techniques to both interior and exterior surfaces but not limited to rides, shows, tents, stables, stands, and any daily painting needs of the SFT grounds. Duties and Responsibilities Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following : Essential Functions : Support Painting of premises and buildings for the maintenance of existing Maintenance Repairs. Under the direction of the Project Manager, install new Paint operations for SFT exhibits including all booths, stages, exhibits, and tents. Trouble and maintain painting on grounds. Assist with the dismantling of construction services after fair. Performs building exterior and interior caulking, finish repair, mud and tape, and texturing tasks. Operates equipment such as airless spray equipment, scaffolding, and motorized lifts. Performs special refinishing tasks including wood surface preparation, staining, and sealing. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Performs minor plaster repair, blending newly renovated wall surfaces with existing plaster. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Experience and Training Guidelines Any combination of experience that would likely provide the required knowledge is qualifying : QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of Paint codes and standards, basic understanding of requirements, and other applicable systems. Ability to estimate basic project time and material quantity requirements. Knowledge of Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations affecting health and safety. Knowledge of Industry standards and specifications for public service for paint projects. Accepted safety standards and methods of painting activities. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade. Ability to select, mix, and apply surface coatings which successfully match and / or restore historic interior or exterior surfaces. Skill in selecting and applying paint and associated products. Skill in applying coatings and / or caulking and completing repairs to exterior and interior surfaces. Skill in wood surface preparation, staining, and / or sealing techniques. Work Schedules : Varies depending on events. Preferred Education and / or Experience : High School Diploma or higher level of education. Previous work experience as a Painter. Oral and written communication. License or Certificate : Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate Texas driver's license. SUPERVISION RECEIVED and EXERCISED Reports to Maintenance Work independently with minimal supervision. WORKING CONDITIONS Environmental Conditions : Working outdoors in various weather conditions such as extreme heat and on uneven and / or slippery surfaces, as necessary, especially during Fair time and special events. Physical Conditions : Essential and other important responsibilities and duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for Remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time. Moving short and long distances to access office supplies, meet guests, perform duties within Fairgrounds, etc. Verbally communicate with both internal and external contacts. Occasionally lift objects no more than 25 pounds unassisted. Production Operator- Seasonal DaysThis position is responsible for daily operations of the production floor; ensuring the shift meets established safety, quality, and production goals in compliance with all applicable legal and food safety requirements. Essential Functions Responsible for daily activities of the production line(s), ensuring product adheres to Niagara’s standard of safety, quality, and throughput. Job Duties : The Seasonal Warehouse Associate 3 is responsible for the accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of product to meet company standards of safety, security, and productivity. The Warehouse Associate will be required to perform various functions including receiver / checker, order filler / picker, forklift operator, and quality auditor. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for safe and efficient operation of any material handling equipment required to perform his / her daily functions. A Seasonal Warehouse Associate 3 has moderate experienced in warehousing, can operate 1 or more pieces of equipment, reach truck experience, preforms receiving and / or shipping functions. Receiving / Put-Away - Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Prior to product storage, count all product, compare to manifest, and check all shipments for damage. Report shortages, damages, and mis-shipments on appropriate form and forward to supervisor. Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas. Order Picking - Efficiently pick customer orders for shipment, ensuring that the correct number and type of product is selected. Carry or transport orders to proper staging locations. Quality - Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances. Loading - Efficiently move product from staging or storage areas into trailers. Ensure all product is safely stacked, wrapped and loaded in compliance with company policies and procedures. Equipment - Safely and efficiently operate forklift or other material handling equipment as required and assist in the loading or unloading of merchandise as needed. Use radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving, and storing functions as needed. Inventory - Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation. Safety / Sanitation / Security - Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the distribution center. Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards. Essential Competencies : The Warehouse Associate must be able to read, count accurately, do simple math, and write legibly. The ability to complete a forklift training course and operate material handling equipment is an important skill. Overview Performs basic pre-install and setup of all assigned machines per Canon Solustion America Pre-Install / Configuration Shop Standards. Begins OJT training in configuration. May also be required to complete basic used equipment evaluations. Services and maintains supported products in accordance with Service and Parts Standards to achieve efficiency and a high level of customer satisfaction. Performs routine maintenance according to documented standards and assists with installations. Unresolved problems will be escalated in accordance with standard procedures. Seasonal : June-August Responsibilities Reports to manager product failure trends and serviceability issues, with necessary supported documentation, ensuring accurate information and record keeping. Meets customer demands by providing efficient, responsive and accurate Field / Shop / on-site maintenance. Properly maintains all technical information, FSR’s, Expense Reports, and Canon property assigned. Possesses good customer communication and satisfaction skills. Performs assigned pre-installs / configurations each day at or above the established benchmark for the model. Maintains constant high level of work quality and consistent conformance with published standards. Maintains all technical information and Canon property assigned. Communicates well with fellow team members, and other Internal departments regarding the timely completion of assigned work related to pre-installs and / or preparation of used machines. Assists and / or cross trains in other Logistics functions as assigned. Consistently follows all documented Shop processes and procedures. Maintains Shop cleanliness and security. Qualifications HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required, plus less than one year of related experience. Must be at least 18 years of age. Requires some travel (valid driver's license and acceptable driving record necessary). Required to take all necessary steps to obtain security and / or other clearances required by customers to enter the customers’ premises. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and be in a mobile activity more than 50% of the time (walking, standing, stooping / kneeling).
