Job Description and Duties Under the direction of the Senior Special Agent, Office of Correctional Safety (OCS), the Special Agent performs a variety of duties for the Fugitive Apprehension Team (FAT) associated with the investigation, location, and apprehension of parolees, parolees at large (PALs), inmate / ward escapees, and other fugitives. The incumbent conducts sensitive criminal and / or administrative investigative and enforcement activities in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies. OCS has established a specialized course of fire and applicable staff assigned to OCS are required to pass this quarterly course of fire with primary and other assigned firearms in order to maintain their assignment to OCS Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing / evaluation thereafter.
