Project Manager
We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join our team in Dallas, ideally with experience on Justice, Civic or Public projects.
This role requires the ability to work with and manage financial aspects of projects and having a PMP certification is preferred.
Leadership
- Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the Project Team.
- Participates on and / or leads multiple project teams as Project Manager.
- Assists in developing and validating project scope and fee, budget, and scope of services during the marketing and contract development process.
- Assists in preparing project presentations. May participate and / or lead client presentations.
- Consistently provides complete and timely communication of project information to and from clients and project team.
- Responsible for managing project using our Project Management system; training will be provided; completes work plans, including identification of project team members, consultants, schedule for completion, labor costs as well as project change notices or other actions taking place on the assigned project.
- Responsible for tracking project financials using Project Management System.
- Assists in the preparation and execution of consultant contracts.
- Assists with negotiating fees and contracts.
- Ensures budgets have been developed to provide for Quality Management Program through the life of the Project.
- Works with sustainable design team to incorporate Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
- Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service.
Management
- Works to avoid or eliminate conflicts in scheduled project work with other projects.
- Plans, organizes and manages project. Provides on-going communication through team meetings / minutes / up-date memos to project team.
- Communicates with consultants, contractors, sub-consultants and in-house disciplines to ensure effective communication.
- Monitors construction administration during the construction phase
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with clients and consultants.
Client Interface
Responsible for maintaining client relationships throughout project. Keeps client apprised of project progress on regular basis.
Initiates and maintains contact with other key project individuals for clarification, coordination and negotiation of critical issues.
Consults with client and team as we determine function and spatial requirements. Ensures integration of engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
Business Development
- Participates in developing annual business plan for the business unit.
- Identifies new business opportunities while developing current client relationships. Listens for and seek out new projects which may exist or are being formulated.
- Participates in selected marketing and business development opportunities.
- Assists in development of fee proposals for marketing proposals.
Staff Development
- Provides leadership including professional development coaching and mentoring staff.
- Defines staff requirements for projects as needed or directed. Makes recommendations to management for staff promotions / terminations for project team.
May participate in interviews and recruiting of professional staff.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-suppliers.
- Knowledge of architectural building systems.
- Thorough understanding of project work plans, schedules, staffing, and budgets.
- Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and different construction delivery methods.
- Knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.
- Ability to manage multiple projects of a complex scope.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD / Architectural Desktop.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in Revit.
- Proficiency in Excel required.
- Proficiency in Deltek Vantagepoint or other architectural project management software.
- Strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to effectively manage team.
- Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience required.
- PMP Certification preferred.
- At least 10 years of management experience in all phases of architectural projects.
- Experience with Justice, Civic, Public projects preferred.
- Licensed Architect with current registration .
- LEED accreditation or Green Associate.
Other :
- Some travel will be required.
- Overtime may be required.
