Project Coordinator/ Project Manager (Planner)
Tetra Tech, Inc., a leading environmental science and engineering consulting firm, has an immediate opportunity for an Project Coordinator / Project Manager (Planner) to provide permitting and compliance services within our thriving energy practice, where we have been supporting a broad range of renewable energy technologies, conventional generation, electric transmission, and emerging technologies such as energy storage or smart grids.
This position will be located in the Portland, OR office.
The successful applicant will have a regulatory permitting background and will have the skills to provide support to project managers and support the regulatory and permitting process for a variety of land development projects in the Pacific Northwest and throughout the U.
S. for public and private clients.
The Coordinator / Project Manager will have the ability and experience to support the permitting of complex projects in a dynamic work environment, have strong critical thinking capabilities, and have a flexible approach to problem solving.
Excellent interpersonal communication (oral and written), planning, and organizational skills are required. Must have demonstrated writing abilities, competency with basic business computer applications (i.
e., Microsoft Office), and possess the ability to act independently. This position requires a team-oriented professional with a strong attention to detail, and a proven commitment to quality management and client satisfaction.
The Coordinator should also have excellent communication skills as the position requires frequent and effective interaction with clients, regulatory agencies, other team members and the public.
A successful candidate should have the following qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental sciences, sustainability, environmental studies, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience with environmental assessments and federal, state, and local regulatory compliance / permitting.
- Have excellent research, analytical, writing, oral communication and organizational skills.
- Have the ability to work independently and to communicate clearly and work closely with team members located across other offices.
- Have strong task management skills in successfully scoping and managing project teams and deliverables.
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project are necessary to perform the responsibilities of this position.
- A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
