Assists in the OR under direct supervision of the physician and performs office procedures (endometrial biopsy, vulvar biopsy, suturing vaginal tissue, abscess incision and drainage, management of negative pressure dressings, venipuncture, pessary fitting, suture / staple removal). Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic testing such as blood work, radiologist studies (i.e. ultrasound, CT, MRI, x-rays, mammograms, etc. Supervises and performs urodynamic and anorectal manometry studies. Develops with the patient, caregivers and patient care team, a mutually acceptable cost-aware plan of care that maximizes health potential. Formulates a treatment plan which includes ordering diagnostic tests, selecting appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, identifying educational needs of the patient and family, developing a patient education plan and formulating a discharge / follow-up plan of care.
