Accountant - Manufacturing
Your Job We are seeking an Accountant to join our Inventory Center of Excellence Accounting Team. This role will create value by strengthening controls to safeguard assets & assist business partners in understanding inventory P&L impacts.
The role will interact with leaders across the business and capabilities who also support the business. This position will participate in streamlining processes and identifying transformation opportunities through process improvements.
Our Team Our team is located at the GP HQ in downtown Atlanta and has a hybrid schedule of in-office and remote workdays.
In this role, you will report to the Accounting Manager. What You Will Do
- Perform, support, review and analyze inventory reconciliations for multiple 3rd party warehouses to ensure accurate inventory is maintained within the ERP
- Collaborate with business partners to enhance processes within an integrated ERP that will enable efficient and timely inventory movements and customer billing.
- Perform financial closing procedures and balance sheet support via inventory roll-forward reporting.
- Participate in physical inventory counts.
- Support the business by facilitating a strong internal financial control environment.
- Actively engage with internal customers, developing strong relationships with leadership to better understand and anticipate business needs.
- Look to identify, recommend, and support valuable process improvements and ensure the delivery of optimal services.
- Work with external auditors to support the year end audit regarding inventory. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Working knowledge of general accounting functions (G / L, Intercompany Transactions, Account Reconciliations, Journal Entries, Variance Analysis, Month-End close) and Internal Financial Controls
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365; that includes MS Excel skills (spreadsheet creation / editing, pivot tables, data manipulation / analysis and formula creation) What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience with integrated financial systems / ERP's (Infor M3 or SAP a plus)
- Inventory experience
- Accounting or Analysis experience in a manufacturing environment
- Product costing / inventory valuation / LIFO experience
- Experience with ad hoc analysis and reporting from a large volume of data
- Experience with analysis and data visualization tools (i.e. Power BI, Tableau, VBA, Hyperion, etc.)
- Experience in transformation and process improvements
- Experience with system implementations, system upgrade, testing and / or reconciling transactions between multiple systems.
