Job Summary
The Asset Manager is responsible for directing and overseeing portfolios of single-family rental homes on behalf of institutional clients.
Major responsibilities will include analysis of property-level performance and KPI’s, developing / managing investor relationships, and identifying portfolio level strategies.
The Asset Manager will understand market and industry dynamics in order to maximize portfolio performance. This position reports to the Director, Asset Management and interacts cross-functionally with all teams across the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to drive performance of the portfolio
- Evaluate property operating performance and KPIs (including financial trends and benchmarking analysis)
- Collaborate with internal operations team to guide optimal leasing strategies and revenue management
- Create / review property-level NOI budgets
- Prepare analysis, management presentations, and execute strategies relating to financial performance, leasing, portfolio management and other ad hoc analyses
- Collaborate across various internal teams including acquisitions, marketing, property management, leasing, and finance & accounting
- Understand industry trends and market dynamics that inform key underwriting assumptions
Qualifications
- Knowledge of real estate a plus including underwriting, valuation, and financial analysis and modeling
- Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-moving environment with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to adapt to changing market dynamics and company priorities
- High-level of responsiveness, sense of urgency, and passion for doing the best work possible
- Microsoft Office proficiency, specifically in Excel and Power Point.
Education and Experience
- 5+ years of total work experience, including experience in real estate and asset management
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Economics, Finance, Accounting or similar business field; advanced degree a plus
