What we are looking for :
Yazaki is looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our team in La Vergne, Tn. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization.
The Logistics Specialist will lead the development and implementation of logistic planning activities, including cost analysis, cost verification, and allocation of costs to Business Units.
Direct interaction will be required with external and internal customers, as well as current and potential service providers.
What you will be doing :
Under direction from management and using independent judgment, you will analyze financial data obtained through studies to determine effects of cost on business.
Examine supply chain methods, distribution locations, transportation routes and services provided to determine total logistics costs.
Compares actual cost to estimates and identifies reasons for variances. Analyze actual costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual costs.
Provide management with detailed reports for the use in making business decisions and controlling expenditures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Knowledge of system hardware and software used with in the Distribution Centers, including Bar Code Printers and Labels
- Assesses Material Handling Equipment requirements
- Develops metrics
- Develops and writes new processes and work instructions
- Promotes and performs process improvements
- Creates and maintains project plans
- Plans and manages projects and manages targets and deadlines
- Purchases fixed assets
- Plans and creates training for all levels of associates
- Provides mentoring and coaching as necessary
- Leads cross-functional teams
- Performs facility audits
- Compiles data to create reports
- Generates and analyzes metrics
- Writes queries
- Develop and make presentations
- Presents business cases for logistic strategies to management and executives
- Performs cost analysis to validate business cases
- Verifies costs to quantify business cases
- Allocates costs to Business Units
- Performs financial reporting, tracking and analysis
- Performs new facility launches and system implementations
- Provides short-term / long-term support to maintain facility operations
- Identifies and implements best practices within multiple facilities
- Supports EMS / QMS, Corporate and departmental policies
- Assists management in meeting corporate and departmental goals and objectives
- Coordinates, attends and documents internal and external customer meetings
- Advanced knowledge and application of the following systems CAD PKMS Future 3 JDE Covisint GQRS ARE / ARS TMS Microsoft Office Applications Customer Specific Systems Visio
- Associate must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Degree Requirements :
Bachelor’s Degree or previous experience as specified below
Previous Experience :
Three years previous experience in Financial Planning, Cost Estimating or Logistics Planning preferably in the automotive sector
Travel Requirements :
Domestic and International as required
On Call Requirements :
As necessary
