Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Environmental Scientist Regulatory and Environmental Compliance Professional we'll count on you to
Plan and direct medium- to large-size environmental permitting and compliance projects for utility, solar, wind, solid waste, industrial facilities, and other projects as identified
Prepare, plan and analyze / review technical studies, permit applications, environmental planning studies, environmental assessments / impact analysis and associated permitting and compliance monitoring for infrastructure and development projects that require conformance with State / City Environmental Reviews & National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
Experience with Rhode Island permitting is required
Research and interpret scientific literature, regulatory programs, guidance and applications
Collect project-related data, which may include research, conducting surveys for listed species, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, field investigations for wetlands, natural resources, land use, etc.
Work with GIS or oversee use of GIS tools
Conduct environmental impact assessments
Conduct field assessments, and support field investigations
Support and manage projects which involve permitting, wetland and stream mitigation design, planning, environmental documents, etc.
Manage or coordinate specialty sub consultants or consultant team members
Define the level of environmental analysis required, coordinate with project team members in problem solving and solutions
Assist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings
Accomplish work independently and through coordinating or supervising small to large technical and professional teams from local and regional offices
Support regional or national projects in specific areas of technical expertise
Be closely involved in public participation and multiple agency coordination
Take responsibility for project management, including developing and managing budgets, schedules, and quality of products
Serve as Project Manager or Task Leader on larger projects as needed, but project management is not sole focus of position

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field
7+ years' experience in complex environmental planning / compliance projects preparing environmental documents which should include experience in wetlands / natural resources, permitting, planning, NEPA, , Section 7, Rhode Island State Permitting, research and assessment of regulations, GIS applications.
Demonstrated knowledge of the NEPA process.
Ability to read and interpret design plans
Experience managing large, complex EIS documents for transportation, large facility, land management, or other infrastructure projects

Proficient with MS Office

Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Mechanical Engineer, we'll count on you to :
Coordinate the work of the mechanical design team from the schematic design through contract document phase of a project.
Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
Coordinate workload to complete the document on schedule. Conduct coordination work sessions in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
Review mechanical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines. Write and edit mechanical specifications, selects equipment, mechanical systems and devices.
Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents.
Provide construction contract administration as needed.
Conduct QA / QC on the work of other Mechanical Project Engineers, Mechanical Project Coordinators or Mechanical CAD Technicians as needed

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, PE preferred or near term on track to PE is required; 5+ years’ experience in mechanical system design of Commercial, Institutional, Healthcare, Science and Technology and / or Civic facilities preferred.
Computer experience using Revit, MS Office, load calculation software, energy modeling software, and manufacturer selection software required.
Previous experience with an architectural / engineering or engineering consulting firm is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis
Healthcare, Science and Technology and / or Civic facilities experience
Experience and / or interest in sustainable design / LEED desired but not required.
