Your New Role...
The position will be within the Special Projects team in News Finance, reporting to the Sr. Director of Financial Analysis.
The role allows for a broad view of the CNN worldwide financials and the operational variables impacting them and focuses on supporting strategic and financial analyses through data-rich Excel models using tools such as data pivot tables and Power Query.
Knowledge and understanding of the principles and theories of finance, accounting and other related disciplines to conduct sound financial analyses are critical for this role;
as well as the ability and desire to work with large sets of data.
Your Role Responsibilities...
Work on data-rich insightful strategic and financial analyses for management’s decision-making related to both, ongoing and new initiatives (e.
g., profitability analyses, new product launches, cost savings / operational initiatives, etc.).
Partner with the News Finance team and other areas of the organization to support the preparation of CNN worldwide budget modeling and presentation, as well as other ad-hoc presentations for CNN’s Executive Leadership (e.
g., CNN WW quarterly business reviews).
- Work on interactive dashboards using Power BI for CNN’s Executive Finance and Operational Leadership with KPIs for CNN WW highlighting risks, opportunities, and performance in different areas of the business.
- Support the digital transformation of the News Finance team through data analytics and tools that can directly link operational data to CNN’s financial trends and future estimates.
- Support the adoption of Power BI / Power Query by News and other Finance teams within Warner Bros. Discovery by helping them leverage reports and tools the Special Projects team has already developed;
as well as helping them develop their own reports using Power BI / Power Query.
Qualifications & Experience...
- The well-qualified candidate will have 4+ years of relevant work experience in a finance role, proven ability to analyze data and to drive process improvements and efficiencies.
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics. MBA is a plus.
- The ideal candidate will have firm understanding of the principles and theories of finance, economics, and other related disciplines to support the development of sound financial business analyses.
- Advanced MS Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills are required.
- Proven ability to mine and manipulate data, identify and analyze trends, KPI’s and business drivers.
- Knowledge of and experience with MS Excel Data Pivot Models, Power Query, and / or Power BI are a plus.
- Knowledge of and experience with Oracle SmartView / Hyperion are a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as well as strong initiative and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, project / deadline-driven environment.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required.
$72,240.00 - $134,160.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
