Job Title : Director of Finance Location : New Orleans, LA area Reports to : General Manager Job Overview : The Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all financial-related areas of the organization, including managing staff accounting and ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial information to corporate offices and property management. The successful candidate should possess excellent leadership skills, strong business acumen, and an in-depth understanding of generally accepted accounting principles. Key Responsibilities : Prepare timely and accurate financial reports and analyses of operations for management guidance. Direct and supervise Accounting personnel involved in auditing and summarizing financial information. Ensure compliance with approved internal controls and applicable state, county, and city licenses or taxes. Make recommendations to the General Manager to increase operational efficiency. Develop and implement special accounting systems and related procedures when standardized systems cannot be used. Create accounting forms to be used by other departments and ensure that they are being used correctly. Prepare and direct the preparation of reports to summarize and forecast business activity and financial position. Review and evaluate the financial results. Supervise and manage hard count and soft count personnel and weigh procedures. Communicate effectively with property and corporate management and employees. Implement and maintain software applications such as Microsoft Office, Lawson, gaming-related systems, and email. Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field required or education with an equivalent level of work-related experience. Two to five years of experience in a similar position is required. CPA preferred. Must have excellent communication and leadership skills. Experience with various software applications such as Microsoft Office, Lawson, and gaming-related systems is required. Must be able to obtain / maintain necessary licenses and / or certifications. Ability to operate computer equipment and read computer instructions, as well as utilize information displayed on the computer monitor. Ability to sit for extended periods of time and a combination of standing, walking, and sitting for up to 8 hours.
