IT Portfolio Planner
This position is in the Supply Chain and Finance IT PMO and will report to the Director of the PMO. This position will support the management of all the IT projects that are part of the overall project portfolio.
Applies subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods.
Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and / or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives.
Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.
May provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.
Provides support on the deliverables related to the planning cycles
Provides the overall leadership for portfolio planning and operations
Optimize the project investments in HP IT across all regions
Provides planning leadership in the broader HP IT planning community
Makes significant contributions to planning process improvements
Leadership in the definition and implementation of new agile portfolio planning processes
Ensure business value of projects is captured
Ensures effective utilization of resources on projects
Manages complex data and business analyses to develop business plans and make recommendations.
Works with cross-functional teams across the entire span of business planning activities.
Contributes to priority projects with complex analyses and assists in developing recommendations.
Contributes to proactive and reactive business planning activities.
First level university degree in appropriate discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Information Technology) or equivalent required.
Master of Business Administration (MBA) strongly preferred.
Strong skills in Project Management, Program Management and Process Analysis, and Organizational Change Management.
Previous people leadership experience, preferably in a global, cross- functional environment
Experience managing projects and programs using SDLC
Facilitation in governance, project reviews, steering, and other project related meetings
Strong focus on collaboration, team building, and customer service
Extensive experience with using project and program planning tools and software packages to create, manage, and track project results.
Experience supporting the end to end Portfolio Planning process in a large enterprise environment
Experience working in a PMO organization
Strong financial acumen
Ability to manage change and ambiguity with an action-oriented drive; must thrive in a dynamic environment
Excellent analytical thinking, technical analysis, and data manipulation skills
Extensive knowledge of Excel, Access, statistical analysis, and financial modeling
Strong project management skills. PMP certification a plus.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams
Demonstrates a strong work ethic, passion, and a positive, can-do attitude
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language
Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels.
