Transportation Planner I
Michael Baker International is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Planner for our Philadelphia Office. The Planner I will join a collaborative team of experienced planners, engineers, GIS analysts, and project managers dedicated to having a positive impact through effective planning.

The Planner I will support project planners and project managers on multi-disciplinary transportation and community development projects for local and state governments and public transit providers. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collecting and compiling a variety of quantitative and qualitative data to prepare reports and maps
- Conducting data analysis for multi-modal transportation projects in one or more of the following modes : public transportation, human services transportation / paratransit, bicycle and pedestrian, surface transportation, and rail freight
- Developing and maintaining project databases
- Researching best practices, state and federal guidance, legal requirements, and development standards
- Preparing drawings, illustrations, maps, and planning graphics for plans and studies
- Preparing written technical reports, plans, and studies under the direction of the project manager
- Participating in meetings with other planners, engineers, managers, project partners, and clients
- Supporting community and stakeholder engagement activities, including organizing and facilitating meetings, workshops, focus groups, and open houses
- Conducting field evaluations and assessments PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning, Architecture, Geography, Landscape Architecture, Public Administration, or a related discipline and 0 - 2 years of progressive experience in transportation planning or related projects
- Knowledge of planning principles, best practices, and techniques
- Knowledge of one or more related planning disciplines, such as transportation planning, public transit operations, human services transportation, bicycle and pedestrian planning, or community development
- Experience conducting research and preparing statistical reports
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Proficiency with desktop graphics and publishing software, such as Adobe InDesign and Illustrator

- Generous paid time off COMPENSATION The salary range for this position is $66,204 - $72,000. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
