CACI is hiring a Sr. Environmental Engineer to assist in providing analysis and administrative services in support of the Navy Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) Compliance Program and the ODS Subcommittee of the Clean Air Act Services Steering Committee (CAA SSC), Navy Shipboard Environmental Protection Program, Navy Environmental Quality Programs and other emerging programs related to marine engine exhaust emissions : greenhouse gases (GHGs) and climate change.
This position will be based onsite in Bethesda, MD. Candidates with active / current Secret-level clearance encouraged to apply!
What You’ll Get to Do :
Manage requests from the fleet for acquisitions and returns of ODS.
Review, update and distribute Navy / USMC ODS Reserve Authorized Users List (AUL).
Provide technical summaries for and participate in regular meetings of the CAA SSC.
Collect information from major marine engine manufacturers as needed to support Navy ship design planning.
Conduct studies on shipboard engine emissions and emission reduction technologies hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and other GHGs used In Navy and DoD applications.
Provide technical support and assistance in program coordination within and outside the Navy, conducting analysis and impact assessment of domestic, international, European Union, and foreign national environmental treaties, laws, and regulations.
Review, develop, and provide input to environmental awareness materials and training programs.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications :
Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 5-7 years experience.
Experience with the Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA).
Experience with Environmental Management, Pollution Prevention, Environmental Compliance, Environmental Conservation & Planning.
Experience with reviewing environmental regulations to assess regulatory impacts on U.S. Navy activities and recommend compliance methodologies to meet the requirements of emerging environmental regulations.
These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have :
Experience with environmental compliance best management practices at the installation and provide technical support for corrective measures to ensure compliance with the requirements.
Experience with developing air toxic control compliance plans, performance annual emission inventories, calculate emissions, gather air-quality throughput data, enter data into databases, and compile data for reports as required.
Related duties include the periodic inspections, auditing of permitted facilities, and oversight of source testing.
