Description Oversee all aspects of the Medical Center’s environmental health and safety program. This includes setting policy, managing staff, and developing new programs and initiatives. Oversees compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and accrediting groups specific to the Environment of Care (EOC) and Life Safety Code. Serves as the Environmental Safety Officer for the Medical Center. This position actively collaborates with the organization’s quality improvement program, corporate compliance program, and the patient safety program. Other job functions as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, safety management, nursing or industrial hygiene, or a health-related discipline. A combination of education and / or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experiences have been directly related to the duties of the job. Five years’ experience as a safety manager / officer / director, or a related medical field required.
