We are seeking a full-time Water Resources / Environmental Engineer with 4+ years of experience in the field, to support our Water Resources / Environmental Team in our New York City office in Lower Manhattan. NV5’s New York City office operates on a four-day work week, hybrid work schedule. Our Water Resources / Environmental Division specializes in providing stormwater management analysis & design, green infrastructure analysis & design, drainage studies, MS4 & USWR compliance and general water resources engineering in addition to environmental reviews, technical analyses, compliance with environmental regulations, and applying sustainable and resilient practices for a wide variety of projects. This individual will have a key role in a broad range of projects for both our municipal and private sector clients. Responsibilities Provide planning support for municipal stormwater management, green infrastructure, water quality BMPs, sewer and stormwater infrastructure design, stormwater funding, MS4 permitting, and other stormwater tasks / projects as assigned. Prepare complete construction packages (including all deliverables) for the engineering, procurement, and construction of stormwater management, green infrastructure, water quality BMPs, sewer and stormwater infrastructure design, and other stormwater tasks / projects. Support environmental reviews in accordance with New York City Environmental Quality Review (CEQR), New York's State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQR), and / or National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) including Environmental Assessment Statements (EAS) and / or Environmental Impact Statements (EIS). Prepare applications for environmental permitting programs such as those regulated by New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP), New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), and / or United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Develop Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) in accordance with the rules and regulations of NYCDEP and NYSDEC. Utilize various design software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, StormCAD,Infoworks ICM and others, as applicable, to assist with the design and preparation of construction drawings Draft, review, and / or interpret technical reports and analyses for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Collaborate with project teams on the application of the Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) Envision framework to the planning and design of infrastructure projects. Foster and maintain excellent working relationships with government agency personnel and the public. Communicate with clients, establish goals and objectives for project teams, and schedule and coordinate resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the performance expectations of the client Qualifications A Baccalaureate degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, environmental science, planning, sustainability and / or a related field EIT a required. Professional Engineer’s License in the State of New York (not required, but a plus) Familiarity with New York City, New York State, and federal environmental regulations Knowledge of NY / NYC stormwater management rules and regulations Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills, and the ability to integrate quantitative and qualitative analyses Ability to support a wide variety of tasks and to work as part of a project team Knowledge of ArcGIS Knowledge of AutoCAD LI-JC2 The pay range for this position in New York City is $80,000.00- $100,000.00 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Moves furniture from one area in facility to another (where currently applicable).May be asked to move furniture to outside storage facility. Moves all furniture and replaces same after carpet installations, in preparation to strip, seal or wax floors or when a department is relocating (where currently applicable). Moves all of the aforementioned as necessary for the smooth and efficient flow of any required work to be performed and replaces same. Sets up and breaks down tables, chairs, lecture podiums, etc according to specifications. Removes trash before setting up next function / meeting. Performs related duties, as required. ADA Essential Functions Job Qualification High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred. Minimum of one year experience in an industrial or hospital setting, preferred. Demonstrated competency in the use of all types of buffing and scrubbing machines, vacuum cleaners and extractor machines. Demonstrated competency in the use of Sani-Pak and cardboard baling machine. Must be able to lift / carry 15 pounds. Must be able to ambulate, up and down stairs and bend at knees repeatedly during shift in the performance of cleaning duties.
