Operating various types of machinery including forklift, man-lift etc. Working with tools of trade including VOM, conduit bender, meggar, etc. Troubleshooting simple start / stop circuits to PLC controllers. Working on and with pneumatic and hydraulic controls. Working on and with variable speed AC and DC drives. Performing maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of a variety of commercial electrical appliances used in food preparation. What it takes to succeed : At least 18 years old. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Journeyman electrical license or equivalent preferred. At least four (4) years electrical experience in an industrial or residential environment required. Climb a ladder and work of heights up to 200 feet. Stand, bend or kneel for long periods of time. Lift, push and pull in excess of 50 pounds. Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments (dark / nighttime conditions, in / around water, in varying weather conditions). Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assemble, and installs electrical conduit. Pulls wiring through conduit. Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps. Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment. Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels. Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads. Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
