Data Scientist
Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for a Data Scientist. The Data Scientist will analyze, design and format new or revise exisiting laboratory information systems applications and associated test code definitions for analytical tests of COVID 19 specimens.
The Data Scientist will also comply with DPH training regarding confidential information realted to personal information.
The position will start immediately upon acceptance and employment clearance and is initially funded through 4 / 30 / 2023 with potential renewal.
Pay Rate-
$53.71 / hr working 40 hours a week

Shifts : Downey, CA
Employee will be working a minimum of 8 hours a day between the hours of 7 AM to 7 PM.
The duties of the Data Scientist include, but are not limited to :
- Analyzes, designs, and formats new or revises existing laboratory information system applications and associated test code definitions for analytical tests of COVID-19 specimens
- Develops, designs, and formats management reports utilizing a report-writer program
- Implements, modifies, and supports electronic interfaces linking the laboratory information system to other information systems or instruments
- Designs and formats laboratory information system applications and conducts system-verification tests to ensure the operational accuracy of data transmission related to database / client and equipment interfaces and test code reproducibility
- Modifies parameters of existing laboratory information applications to conform with updated COVID-19 test methodology or standard value ranges
- Maintains and updates the master test file, user and client profiles, procedure and security-clearance files, and access user levels
- Develops and documents backup procedures to ensure the viability and accessibility of laboratory information and operations in the event of a system malfunction
- Assists in conducting training programs for laboratory personnel in the use of the laboratory information system
- Complies with DPH training regarding confidential information related to personal information; and
- Accepts responsibility for other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements :
- Must have working knowledge and previous experience with laboratory information management systems
- Experience with Sunquest LIS Knowledge
- Valid Class C California Drivers License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions
Desirable Qualification :
- Windows-based laptop or desktop device, with a speaker and mic;
- Reliable Wi-fi / internet access
- Knowledge in communicable disease surveillance.
