Position Overview
As a data engineer, you will become an expert in the creation of LightBox's core products. You will learn and develop upon the processes for ingesting, building, and validating spatial datasets.
Using your database management knowledge you will ensure that all data is properly loaded in their unique processes, you will develop upon your python experience in deploying build processes, while utilizing your acute attention to detail in maintaining and enhancing the quality of our outputs.
You will work collaboratively with a team of hardworking GIS Data Analysts and Data Engineers on deployment and development of highly scalable data pipelines.
What you will do and achieve
- Maintain and develop data ETL processes. Utilizing PostGreSQL, ArcGIS, and other software to transform and manipulate data.
- Learn and enhance existing data pipelines to prepare data to support core products.
- Develop tools and workflows to automate existing processes.
- Become an expert on building footprint and address point data.
This is a non-exempt position within the $65K to $70K range based on a 40-hour work week.
Who you are
Education
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, GIS or similar discipline.
Experience
0 to 3 years experience in Data Analysis, Data Engineering, or GIS Analysis.

Other Desirable Attributes
- Experience developing workflows utilizing python or SQL to validate or transform data highly valuable
- AWS certification or cloud based experience a plus
- GIS certification, demonstrable GIS projects or ArcGIS Online experience
- Experience using python modules, packages, and libraries, demonstrable experience valuable
- Familiarity with building footprint and address point data a plus
