JOB DUTIES
Description
The Ophoff Lab is looking for a data analyst with computer and programming skills to help with biological data examination for the study of mental illness that takes place under the direction and supervision of the PI.
You will assist postdoctoral and predoctoral researchers in the group with their data management and analyses. You should be familiar with data programming, transporting data files, managing data in shared systems, and have a knowledge of common data analysis programs (e.
g., programming in R), as well as have knowledge of how to manage, clean, and monitor data. Basic knowledge of language relevant to IT is preferred.
If technical issues are encountered, troubleshooting with the study team and participant to implement solution or document new issues.
Responsibilities include testing new workflows, cloud computing and supporting the research team in the ongoing computational projects and analyses.
You will participate in data management and QC, and work without detailed technical supervision. Pay Range : $26.20 $51.39 hourly
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
Preferred : Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Neuroscience or related discipline · Strongly Preferred : computational research experience · Strongly preferred : basic knowledge of IT language for coordination with IT team · Strongly preferred : proficiency in at least some commonly used data management platforms for programming, managing, and exporting (e.
g., RedCap, SAS, SPSS, R). · Required : Strong computer skills including word processing, e-mail systems, file transfer, spreadsheets, data entry, database maintenance, including the ability to enter data and maintain study records · Required : Excellent attention to detail, ability to troubleshoot and independently solve problems · Ability to prioritize and complete in a timely way work on multiple projects with competing requirements · Collaborative, able to work both independently and as part of a team · Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing · Strong time management and interpersonal skills · A minimum commitment of one year is preferred · Immediate start date preferred
