Bartender
Overview
Prepare and serve beverages : You will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests.
This includes taking drink orders, mixing cocktails, pouring wine and beer, and ensuring all beverages are prepared to the highest standard.
Knowledge of drinks and ingredients : You should have a good understanding of different types of drinks, including cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages.
This includes knowledge of drink recipes, ingredients, and proper garnishes.
Customer service : Providing exceptional customer service is vital. You will engage with guests, take their orders, and ensure they have a positive experience at the bar.
You should be attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, able to make recommendations and answer any questions about the drink menu.
Cash handling : You will handle cash transactions, process payments, and accurately manage cash registers. It is important to maintain proper cash handling procedures, including handling credit card transactions and giving change.
Cleanliness and organization : Maintaining cleanliness and organization at the bar is essential. You will be responsible for keeping the bar area clean, including washing glassware, cleaning utensils, and ensuring the bar is stocked with necessary supplies.
Knowledge of safety and health regulations : You must adhere to safety and health regulations related to the handling of food and beverages.
This includes understanding proper hygiene practices, maintaining cleanliness in the bar area, and ensuring compliance with local alcohol serving laws.
Collaboration with the team : You will work closely with other members of the hotel staff, such as servers, kitchen staff, and management.
Collaboration and effective communication with team members are important for smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
Upselling and suggestive selling : As a bartender, you may be expected to upsell and suggest additional drinks or menu items to guests, promoting special offers or recommendations based on their preferences.
Knowledge of hotel services : You should be familiar with the hotel's services, facilities, and events to provide accurate information to guests and promote hotel offerings.
