We are seeking an experienced aviation professional to serve as the Principal Project Manager to join our dynamic team. Responsible for leading the development and execution of the project management plan while building and maintaining effective and meaningful client relationships.
This position serves as the primary client liaison responsible for managing and delivering all aspects of one or more large aviation projects including contracting, project controls, quality, risk and change management.

In this role you will serve as the senior project or program manager for large, complex aviation projects and will be responsible for managing all aspects of project design and document and contract development, coordinating the work of other project team members and firms to deliver exceptional quality, within the established budget and schedule.
You will need to possess strong communication skills, the ability to solve complex problems creatively, the ability to foster collaborative team dynamics, and be able to develop and manage effective client relationships.
This position is for a licensed architect who has demonstrated expertise in the management of large aviation terminal project(s) exceeding $200M in construction value.
This position is considered a doer / seller role with a level of business development. You will collaborate with the HNTB Aviation Architecture Market Sector Leader and Architecture Office leader to a) develop clients, b) build relationships with airports’ staff / selection committee members, and c) participate in pursuit and project development activities.
What You'll Do :
Has full responsibility for managing all aspects of mega projects.
Prepares strategic plans for project success.
Responsible for the coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to assure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
Serves as primary liaison contact with the clients to bring projects to completion on schedule, within budget and with maximum client satisfaction.
Provides oversight and monitoring of work to less experience project managers.
May act in a team lead capacity in the absence of the manager.
Actively manages client’s budget, schedule and program; HNTB budget and schedule; project communications and documentation;
office administrative tasks; and project team assignments.
Estimates fees, determines scope of work, and prepares proposals and contracts on the most complex projects of the largest magnitude.
Coordinates work efforts and reviews work performed.
Provides for quality management.
Be a champion for the team.
Responsible for hiring, firing, promotion, discipline, performance review, work allocation, training and mentoring of staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need : BA in Architecture
BA in Architecture
Primary Focus Will Include :
Collaborate with Market Sector leadership to lead the pursuit team as a project manager for super mega projects
Preparing technical section of proposals
Identifying future pursuits
Leading and executing project management plans
Be the primary client liaison responsible for managing and delivering all aspects of one or more mega or super mega ($25M+ fee) projects including contracting, project controls, quality, risk, and change management.
Provides guidance and mentor staff.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills :
Minimum 15 years of experience on aviation architecture projects
Recognized Project Manager in the aviation Industry
Registered Architect
NCARB Preferred
LEED AP Preferred but not mandatory
Excellent verbal and writing skills :
Experience leading and managing a team of multi-disciple planners, architects, and engineers in the planning and design of aviation facilities.
Understanding of terminal programming and planning
Experience in managing contracts for large terminal design ($200M+) and experience on larger valued terminal projects is a plus.
Understanding of airport and airline client relationships
Experience delivering Design-Build projects is a plus.
Ability to work at the project location and / or frequent travel is required.
Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.
