Summary :
As a Medical Assistant, you will provide support to the clinical team in delivering high-quality medical care to patients.
Your role will involve assisting nursing and medical staff, following the center's objectives and policies, and ensuring compliance with job-specific standards.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities :
Perform vital sign measurements, vision and hearing tests, and accurately record patient data in the electronic health record (eCW).
This includes documenting laboratory results, pain levels, PEAS, PhQ, smoke status, etc. Ensure timely completion of patient visit documentation (CVRs)
Conduct in-house lab procedures, ensuring quality control and equipment maintenance in accordance with organizational protocols
Draw blood and collect other specimens as directed by providers, ensuring proper processing and handling
Conduct routine tests in areas such as serology, hematology, chemistry, histology, and cytology using standard techniques and equipment.
Collect specimens for outside labs (e.g., Pap smears, cultures, etc.)
Prepare examination rooms, set up necessary equipment, and assist / chaperone during patient examinations and treatments
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical area, including stocking supplies and proper disposal of outdated materials Adhere to sterilization and cleaning guidelines for equipment
Perform basic clerical work in the service area, including answering phones, communicating concerns to nurses, and handling inquiries
Ensure maintenance of appropriate logs and accurate records for laboratory tests
Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs)
Qualifications :
Minimum Education Requirement : High School diploma / GED with Medical Assistant Training Certificate
Preferred Education Requirement : Associate's degree with Medical Assistant National Certificate
Minimum of 1 year of related work experience
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
CPR certification
