SEA, Ltd.'s Atlanta office is seeking an experienced forensic mechanical engineer for growth in our Atlanta office. Prior forensic experience is required.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities :
Conduct field investigations and perform failure / accident analysis on incidents involving all types of vehicles and related mechanical equipment
Conduct vehicular accident reconstruction and mechanical failure analysis
Perform calculations, engineering analysis, computer analyses and simulations and technical reporting
Investigate design, safety and failure of machinery and mechanical systems
Provide technical findings and conclusions in laymen's terms, both verbally and in writing
Responsible for retention and development of client relationships
Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groups
Support conclusions by appropriate testimony in legal or other proceedings.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications;
establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Regular and predictable physical presence in the office
Position Requirements :
M.S in Mechanical Engineering preferred, B.S. required
P. E. registration through testing
Minimum of five (5) years of forensic engineering experience
Prior testimony experience
Strong written and oral communication skills
Computer skills with spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software is a must
Computer aided drawing skills is a plus
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Public speaking experience is a plus
Physical Requirements :
Ability to travel 25% of the time
Ability to maneuver in and around an accident site
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Ability to drive to site locations
Ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues
Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work site

Position Requirements :
Bachelor' degree in Mechanical Engineering required, Master's degree preferred
P. E. registration through testing or ability to obtain within eight months
Minimum of four years of automotive engineering experience, safety experience preferred
Vehicular knowledge is a must
Experience in or desire to learn Vehicular Accident Reconstruction and Failure Analysis
Must possess strong writing skills
General knowledge of gas systems and equipment a plus
Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills
Public speaking experience a plus
Physical Requirements :
40% Travel (mostly local)
Ability to maneuver in and around a vehicle or accident site
Ability to lift 60 lbs
Ability to drive to site locations
