Responsibilities :
Performs field sampling of various building materials for asbestos, paints, molds and other hazardous materials of interest using standard operating protocols and good field sampling techniques
Performs air monitoring and completes data sheets using standard operating protocols
Delivers field inspection reports and / or air monitoring data in a timely manner
Develops a working knowledge of EPA, OSHA, PSCAA, L&I as it relates to building demolition / renovation and environmental issues
Prepares required reports as needed in a timely and accurate manner
Provides high quality customer service in a timely and courteous manner
Reports unresolved difficulties with any client to the Field Services Manager
Maintains positive and professional relations with clients and staff members at all times
Informs Manager of any needed supplies or communication issues
Participates in all departmental meetings, refreshers and training programs
Maintains consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, and appearance
Performs all duties assigned by the Manager
Qualifications :
A minimum of 2 Years of College or a Bachelors of Science Degree is preferred
Must have Certification as AHERA Building Inspector and / or other relevant certifications
Requires excellent customer service skills
Strong interpersonal & customer service skills
The ability to maintain solid working relationships with clients and staff
Must have working knowledge of computer software including MS Office
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Demonstrated ability to create and prepare professional reports
A valid Driver’s license and personal transportation are required
Must be able to work a flexible schedule as work demands
The ability to work well in a team environment
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
The functions of this position are performed primarily outside the office and may require working outdoors in all weather conditions, with all noise levels, in hazardous conditions, in contact with hazardous materials and odors, and on the full range of outdoor work surfaces
The ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds
Requires the ability to carry a 20 ft. ladder and climb ladders without the fear of heights
Must be willing and able to enter and / or crawl into confined spaces
Must be physically fit and able to pass medical exams, to wear respirators
The ability to stand for sustained periods of time, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, reach and walk without assistance
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to frequently travel to project sites
The ability to conduct repetitive motions using hands, wrists, and fingers
The ability to talk and hear at normal speaking levels
The ability to pick, pinch, and type without assistance
Must be able to work in proximity to chemicals, noise, high temperatures and odors
