What you will be doing
The Vice President of Finance and Accounting is responsible for ensuring that Hospitality Ventures is meeting the requirements of Hospitality Ventures leadership, as well as owners / investors.
This includes the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring appropriate controls are in place to safeguard assets, and utilizing efficient and effective processes at the hotels and within corporate.
Additional Responsibilities include :
Ensure that the needs of the owners / investors are fulfilled in a timely manner
Continually evaluate the effectiveness of operational procedures and controls to maximize departmental productivity and minimize errors made by staff
Responsible for ensuring accounting team is adhering to internal controls
Review financial results for all properties for completeness
Assist in organizing and managing information for the annual external audits for owners
Manage the HVM close process to include P&L, BS, etc. as well as budgets / forecasts
Oversee the companywide SOP process; identify additional SOPs; update existing SOPs on a regular basis
Provide annual review of sales, use, occupancy and franchise taxes for all properties, including rates, collections and reporting
Income tax liaison, acting as primary contact for all Federal / State / Local tax audits
Team Leader in the accounting / financial reporting area and responsible for the hiring, supervising and evaluating all personnel that report to this position
Review balance sheet reconciliations for all properties
Consolidation of Financial Statements
Oversee Accounts Payable
Oversee Accounts Receivable
Oversee Payroll Processing
Oversee Sales / Use Tax Processing
Handling of Property Insurance
Handing of Real Estate Taxes
Month-End Accounting Close Process
Cash Management & Cash Flow Forecasting
Communicate / Analyze / Explain Financial Results internally and to Investors & Lenders (verbally and in writing)
Spot and recommend cost containment possibilities
Preparation of labor and staffing models / guides for the hotels
Prepare Detailed Budgets, Pro Forma’s and other Models
Implement and execute accounting controls, processes and procedures
Work directly with outside independent accountants / auditors / tax preparers
Point person for handling all major accounting technology / software
Education & Experience Requirements :
Education :
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university with a degree in business required, preferably in finance or accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CPA strongly preferred.
Experience :
15 years experience and demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, cash management, fixed asset accounting, taxes
CPA with hospitality and / or real estate experience strongly preferred
Experience managing a staff of 5 or more.
Demonstrated ability in Strategic Agility, Problem Solving, Priority Setting and Planning, and Delegation
Strong communication skills, strategic agility, process engineering and people management.
Experience with M-3, Profit Sword Suite, and Hotel Effectiveness.
Extensive knowledge of financial statement preparation, accounts payable, payroll, and income audit back of house hospitality systems.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

Hotel Maintenance Engineer

Who this job will appeal to
Someone who is curious to know how things work and LOVES to keep them working! Someone who has mechanical proficiency and / or eager and very willing to learn.
The hotel would love to hear from you if you have past experience working in landscaping, construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or any combination of these.
You will need to be comfortable training under the Chief of Maintenance.
Essential Functions
Maintenance of the interior and exterior of the hotel
Responding to guests maintenance requests courteously, promptly, and resolving matters to the guest’s satisfaction
Performs daily walk-thru of the hotel grounds and identifies, reports as well as addresses areas with immediate grounds keeping needs
Continually monitors all work areas for safety and sanitation
Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems
Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment.
Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed
Qualifications / Requirements
Basic reading, writing and math skills.
General handyman knowledge; landscape experience a plus
Ability to perform the following : regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds, frequently standing up and moving about the work area, frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility, frequently bending, stooping and kneeling, frequently working in areas of high temperatures around heavy equipment.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three to six months related experience and / or training; preferred but not required.
