da Gama (the sister restaurant of Oporto) is a thriving, family-owned restaurant in the Heights neighborhood. We serve Indian cuisine with a Portuguese influence, making everything from scratch in house and focusing on creating delicious, creative, and healthy meals for both lunch and dinner, Monday-Saturday. We're seeking both full and part time servers with availability 3-5 days a week for lunch and dinner services. This is a tipped position, with an average hourly of $35+. Duties and responsibilities include : Communicating with kitchen and front of house staff to ensure effective flow of service Maintaining a strong sense of controlled urgency and hospitality at all times Working as part of a small but mighty team to ensure great service throughout the restaurant Studying the menu, wine list, and cocktail list and keeping up with weekly changes Maintaining an organized and clean work environment Communicating with guests Helping in any way necessary to aid in the success of the team Our ideal candidate should possess : Strong communication skills Warm and courteous table-side manner A sense of pride in work and ownership of responsibilities The desire to work with a team A passion for food, wine, hospitality, and continuing education Flexibility in work availability A high level of maturity, honesty and dependability A positive attitude and a willingness to make things work, even in high-stress moments Candidates must have an interest in learning about wine and food and ongoing beverage training In return, we offer the right person : Fair, friendly and balanced work environment Autonomy and opportunity for growth in the business based on performance Generous discounts at the restaurant If you think this describes you, we're looking forward to meeting you soon.
