MISSION
To ensure a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience for all customers at the club’s Sports Bar. Greet customers with a smile as they are seated at or approach the bar.
Provide menus as needed, and take customers orders in a service-oriented manner, demonstrating complete knowledge of all menu items and employing suggestive selling skills.
Recognize regular customers and anticipate their needs. Produce drink orders for the cocktail and restaurant servers. Process meal orders promptly, and deliver meals as soon as they are prepared by the kitchen.
Keep the bar area clean, neat uncluttered and fully stocked. Follow all state liquor laws when serving alcohol.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet and welcome customers as they are seated; get to know and use the names of regular customers
Offer a menu to each customer, describe the daily specials, ask if they would like water, and take drink orders
Assist customers in selecting their food orders; make suggestions where appropriate
Promote daily specials, new menu items, and healthy alternatives for those interested in low-fat meals
Measure all drinks properly using a jigger; no free pouring
Follow all beverage standards and procedures, using the beverage manual and recipe book as references
Be flexible with customers regarding special requests; allow substitutions wherever possible
Enter orders into the computer promptly; make sure special requests are spelled out plainly for the line cooks
Check on customers; refill drinks as needed or requested; give customers updates on their order as appropriate
Deliver meals to customers as soon as they are prepared by kitchen; double-check to ensure accuracy of order as prepared
Bring customers their check at the appropriate time; never have them wait
Process customer payments accurately and efficiently
Offer all customers a parting wish and thank them for coming to the Sports Bar
Prepare specialty drink orders for servers and walk-up traffic; pour beer and wine orders
Follow all state liquor laws in the responsible service of alcohol
Bus the bar counter; ensure counter is clean and dry
Keep the bar area neat, clean, uncluttered and fully stocked
Follow all Sports Bar opening and closing procedures for bartenders as outlined by the Restaurant Manager
Assist with catered functions (in both the conference room and restaurant) as requested
Cross-train in other restaurant positions
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Food and Beverage

Be knowledgeable about all menu items, their garnish, contents and preparation methods; be prepared to answer any guests questions in a direct, concise way
Be flexible with guests regarding special requests; allow substitutions wherever possible
Enter orders into the POS system promptly; make sure special requests are spelled out plainly for the line cooks; return menus to the station
Check in with assigned tables; refill drinks as needed or requested; give guests updates on their order as appropriate
Deliver meals to guests as soon as they are prepared by kitchen; double-check to ensure accuracy of order as prepared
Stop by at least once to make sure guests are enjoying their meal and have everything they need
Bring guests their check at the appropriate time; never have them wait
Process guests payments accurately and efficiently; no voids or deletes without management approval
Offer all guests a parting wish and thank them for coming to the Restaurant
At start of shift, check assigned station to ensure neatness, cleanliness and stocking
Bus tables; ensure table tops are clean and dry; condiments stocked; places set (four per table)
Keep soda stations stocked with silverware, napkins, glasses, pitchers, wet and dry rags
Refill condiment containers, water pitchers, coffee pots, etc. as needed
Follow all Restaurant opening and closing procedures for servers as outlined by the Director of Food and Beverage and as applicable
Assist with catered functions (in both the conference room and restaurant) as requested
Cross-train in other restaurant positions
